Dear family,

Thanks for reading my letter.

I am Laura, my family is made up of my parents, my sister and my brother. I have a dog named Coqui. My mother earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Baltimore and works as an accountant for a local company, and my father has his own boat sales business. I love going on vacation with them, traveling or making plans with my sister. As a family we have taken many trips to beautiful cities in Europe and in the USA Las Vegas and LA. As a family tradition at Christmas, on December 25 we all get together, cousins, uncles, grandparents, and eat together. Here in Spain the Three Wise Men are also celebrated, on January 5 we go with our friends to see the parades and then that night the Three Wise Men come and leave gifts like Santa Claus. Another of my family’s traditions is to eat rice every Sunday, whether it be paella, baked rice or rice with seafood.

I am kind, intelligent, smiling, fun, thoughtful. My strengths are that I am very determined, sincere, outgoing and mature. My weak points are that sometimes I am shy and not very self-critical of myself. Every day I do some housework, I always clean up my room and there are days when I take turns with my sister to clean up the kitchen. I pay a lot of attention in class and that is reflected in my grades. My favorite subjects are Mathematics, Mechanical Drawing and Physics.

I love spending time with my friends, whether it’s walking around our city or going to the movies or the mall. My favorite food is potato omelette and macaroni. I also love chocolate. I really like to celebrate Christmas and New Year by eating the 12 grapes with my whole family. My hobby is going to the gym, I go five times a week. I like to listen to music of all kinds, my favorite singers are Rauw Alejandro, Adele and Rihanna. In summer I spend all day in my pool with my friends or there are also days when we take a bus and go to the beach to spend the day. An interesting fact is that when I was 6 years old I was living in Portugal for a year due to my father’s job.

From this experience I would like to take with me a second family, a second place to call home, many friends from the other side of the world. I also hope to get a better level of English from her and be able to speak it fluently. In this experience I would love to show things and traditions of Spain to my family and friends. I appreciate that you let me be part of your family and be able to live this experience and fulfill my dream.
