Dear host family,
I hope you are doing well. My name is Laura, and in this letter, I’m sharing a little about myself so you can get to know me. I live with my mom and two cats, Nero and Delilah. I enjoy going on walks, watching movies with my mom, and playing with my cats. To describe me in five words, I’d say I’m kind, determined, friendly, confident, and understanding.
My strengths are that I always tell the truth and never lie. I never judge anyone and try my best to help. I’m also easy to talk to once someone gets to know me. My weaknesses are that I’m really bad at cooking and can’t do it at all. I also struggle with new chores I’m unfamiliar with, but I’m willing to try.
From this experience, I really want to gain new friends, cultural experience, a second family where I can always talk to, new memories, and possibly acting opportunities. My interests are acting, acting, and again acting. In the future, I want to become the first actress from my home country to win an Oscar. I have a lot of work to do, but I’m already trying. In my home country, I play in a small theater.
My favorite food is mashed potatoes. My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. One of the family traditions I like is cooking piragi, or bacon buns, especially on Christmas.
I am passionate about acting and would love to be in an environment where I can grow creatively. If my host family has any connections to performing arts like acting, it would be very helpful. I would also love to learn other stage arts like dancing or singing, though I am very bad at singing. I would be excited to learn. I am also interested in cheerleading and would love to try it.
Most importantly, I hope to live in a friendly and welcoming environment where I can connect with my host family and new classmates, who I hope to call my friends.
Thank you for considering me. I look forward to the opportunity.
