Dear future host Family,

First of all, I want to thank you that you are considering choosing me to be a part of your family for a year. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about you yet, but I would like to tell you something about me and my daily life in Germany.

My name is Malte and I will be 16 at the time of the exchange. I am living together with my parents and my 17 years old sister. We all get along very well. We spend time together by playing games, watching movies or going on short trips, to the restaurant or do other activities. My father enjoys adventure activities just like me, that is why we are going at least once a month on a trip to have some fun. Last time we went indoor carting with friends. As for my character, my friends describe me as a very friendly and open person who is always interested in learning new things. I am a sportive guy but also enjoy being lazy and relax from time to time. For me, the mix is what matters. I like outdoor adventures and activities.

I like spending my free time doing activities with my friends, such as going out for Thai food, burgers or chicken, do some sports or sometimes just to hang out. For me spending time with friends and family is very important. It became a family tradition to meet twice a year with our extended family which partly lives in UK and Asia. Also, I´m very much looking forward to get to know other people from the US and other countries. I am currently going to the gym, but I want to try out different sports that are typical for the US like football. I am spending the rest of my spare time watching all types of movies or series.

I am hoping to learn a lot about US and experience the culture, learn to speak English flawlessly, make new friends and of course have a great time with you. I’m very excited about meeting you and can’t wait to start living with you in Amerika. I am so grateful to get the opportunity to be a member of your family.
