Dear Future Host Family,
I am very excited about the opportunity my parents gave me, to become a part of your family and experience life in a whole different culture.
I come from family of four. My mom is an ophthalmologist, my dad is a public prosecutor, and I also have an older brother. We usually get along in our home and we go hiking in the mountains together or on the seaside holiday. I have two cats and I love their calming effect on my family.
I would describe myself as open-minded because I enjoy learning about different perspectives and cultures. I like trying new experiences and adapting to new situations. I’m friendly and really enjoy meeting new people.
I always try to be honest in my interactions, and I value open and sincere communication. I’m motivated to improve and step out of my comfort zone. At the same time, I know I have some weaknesses. Sometimes, I can be a bit lazy or spend some time on my phone instead of being productive. However, I’d much rather spend time doing some outdoor activity then wasting my time with phone. I also struggle with confidence at times. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and sometimes also drawing. I’m always up for trying new hobbies or sports. I try to be active, although sometimes it ends up being just walk from school. When the weather is nice I go rollerblading or cycling, and in winter I go skiing. Some of my favorite foods include salads, pasta, oatmeal, fruits, chicken steak. My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas, especially when we cook special meals with family, and the whole process of Christmas dinner.
Living in the USA would give me a chance to immerse myself in a whole different culture. Leaving behind familiar surroundings would make me step out of my comfort zone and try new things, meet new people.
I’d like to improve my language skills. I hope that daily conversations with native speakers would boost my confidence and fluency in speaking. Also I want to grow more independent through this experience. Since I really enjoy presence of any animal, I’d love to be with a family that has pets or other animals. I also value open communication, as I already stated, and look forward to a family environment where sharing ideas and experience feels natural.
I am truly thankful for your generosity to open your home to me. It means so much to know that I will have a welcoming and supportive environment while I experience a new culture and community. I look forward to learn about your traditions and way of life, and I’m excited to meet you.
