I hope this letter finds you in great spirits and health. My name is Michalea, and I am thrilled to have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of your family. I am immensely grateful for the kindness and openness with which you’ve welcomed me into your home. It is truly heartwarming to know I will be living with such a generous and caring family during my stay.

I am 16 years old and I am a student at secondary grammar school. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter and giving me the opportunity of being able to study in America.

I come from a close-knit family that consists of my parents, my older brother, and our two dogs that are very much a part of the family. Spending time with my family is the highlight of my day. I also have two granddads and grandmas. I have a little tradition with one of my granddads. We play cards quite regularly and I really enjoy it. Since we don’t live in the same town I don’t spend as much time with them as I would like to. I love our family gatherings, they’re always filled with laughter and love, which create forever lasting memories.

I’d say I am a very unique person. I’m very positive and I always see the glass half full other than half empty. I’m also very empathetic, sometimes rather emotional. I’m hard working but sometimes my laziness takes ahead of me. I’m loyal and my friends can always rely on me. Sometimes I seem to be stubborn but in other words I just try to keep my ground. I have a very creative and artistic personality. I like painting and drawing. I can sing and I attend a choir. I love reading, watching movies and listening to music. I’m not keen on sports but I like roller skating and skiing. These activities I am really good at.

I want to go to America to get a new experience, to try something new. I would like to meet new people and learn more about the history and culture of the USA. This opportunity is a challenge for me and I like challenges, they move me forward. I don’t have any specific preferences. I’m comfortable with various living situations and can adapt to different family dynamics, whether I’m with young children, teenagers, adults or pets.

I am eagerly looking forward to getting to know each of you and experiencing the warmth, culture, and traditions of your household. As I embark on this exciting journey, I am excited to share my own background and traditions with you and create unforgettable memories together.
