LETTER FROM Naja

Naja

Dear host Family,

My name is Naja, I am 15 years old. I live in a small town in the Western part of Denmark with my family, consisting of mom, dad and my older brother.

I really want to experience a year in The US –living in and be a part of a family. I have heard a lot of exciting things about it, and I’ve always been really interested in American culture and the way of living. Another benefit from getting a part of a different culture is that it will broaden your horizon, and maybe you will find out that some things can be done in a better way.

In my free time I love to play tennis. I have been playing it since I was about 5 years old. I practice 2 times a week, and coach kids in tennis. I love playing tennis and hanging out at the tennis club because I just find it really fun and It’s a great way to socialize with my friends that also plays tennis.

I have a job in a café. I wash the dishes and prepare food for serving to customers. I’ve worked there for about a year and a half.

Family and friends are a big part of my life, my family and I love to watch tv or play board games. I also have a brother he is one year older than me. Me and my friends often hang out when not in school and just talk, do activities or go out for food. At home we have two guinea pigs their names are Mogens and Ludvig J, and I love spending time with them.

I’m a very caring and positive person who loves to help others. I love to be social and just hang out with other people, but I also need time for myself sometimes. I love to cook and try new foods especially food from other countries. some of my favorite foods are tzatziki, sushi and potato chips dipped in gravy J

I am so excited about going to the US and have a great experience, and get new relations and of course improve my English. I am very grateful that a family will open up their house and let another person in to their private sphere for a whole year. That takes an open mindset and heart.
