LETTER FROM Naphon (Uri)

Naphon (Uri)

Dear host family,

Hello, my name is Uri. I am 14 years old (and will be 15 in the US) and currently a 9th Grade student. There are three people in my family, my father, my mother, and me. I have great relationship with my parents and they take good care of me. If I have some concerns or problems, I would take to them and ask their help. My father and mother own a business.

Regarding my personality, I would describe myself as friendly and humorous but I sometimes to become quiet and shy when I’m not around the people that I know. My hobbies include playing video games, watching movies, and listening to music. I also have an interest in sneakers. The subjects I enjoy the most are English, Lab science, and Physical Education

Some of my favorite games include Valorant, Overwatch, and Marvel Rivals. I also occasionally play Roblox. In terms of music, I enjoy hip-hop and pop. Additionally, I do a bit of ice skating; while I wouldn’t consider myself particularly skilled, I believe I am at a decent level.

One of my strengths, according to those around me, is my ability to learn new things quickly. While I am beginning to recognize this trait in myself, I try not to become overly confident in it, as I believe that doing so could lead to complacency.

Regarding food preferences, I do not have a specific favorite dish. However, I generally prefer Western cuisine—primarily European and North American dishes—over Eastern cuisine. That said, I do enjoy certain Asian foods, particularly Japanese dishes such as sushi and ramen. For Western cuisine, some of my favorites include burgers, pasta, pizza, and fried chicken.

Through this experience on exchange program, I hope to enhance my English skills, develop better social skills, make new friends, and grow personally by learning to adapt to new environments, solve problems independently, and step out of my comfort zone. Additionally, I look forward to expanding my cultural exposure. To share Thai culture, I plan to convey stories and experiences from my own perspective.

Thank you for taking your time to consider my letter and I hope to spend a wonderful year together with your family.
