Dear future host family,
my name is Noah and I am 15 years old. I live in a city in the very southwest of Germany. The city does have about 200.000 inhabitants and is close to the Swiss and French borders. It is known for being the sunniest city in Germany.
My favorite books are historical novels. My favorite films are action films like the avengers or marvel in general. I like to read before going to bed.
I am a social and relaxed person who has a group of friends with whom I like to hang out on the weekends. But I also like being by myself. I always like to say what I think, but I also have a high respect for authorities. I am an open-minded person who has no problems making friends. Sometimes on birthdays or other social events I go out to party.
I live with my parents in a house, I have three siblings, two brothers and one sister. My brothers are 10 and 12 and my sister Ella is 5. The name of my younger brother is Anton but we call him Toni and my older brother’s name is Leon. I have quite a big room on the first floor. My father is a freelancer and my mom is a professor at a university nearby. We have a garden with a trampoline, which is located next to our terrace. Beside the budgies that belong to my brother Leon and me we do not have any pets. I would have no problems living with other pets. My responsibilities in our household are to take care of the dishwasher or clean the bathroom. My siblings and I also mow the lawn in the summer. My family and I do very much together, we love to cook and to eat, play some games or travel together. My favorite food is pasta, pizza and burgers.
My school day starts at 7:15am, at this time my mom or my dad wakes me up and I wash me, dress me and quickly eat breakfast, at 7:40am I go to school by bike. The school day starts at 7:50am and normally ends at 1:05pm. Twice a week I have school till 3:20pm. Normally I make my lunch on my own. I’m in the tenth grade and my favorite school subjects are history and sports. In my free time I like to meet friends, play Basketball, play videogames, listen to music or read. I play in a Basketball team for nearly 8 years. We have training on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. I’m interested in every kind of sport and would love to try out sports like American Football or Baseball when I am with you. I also love to watch Basketball in particular the NBA but normally NBA games start at 1:00am or later in Germany so I don’t have the chance to watch these games very often. I hope this will change when I am in the USA. I decided to do a year abroad in the United States quite a long time ago. In 2014 I went to school for 6 weeks in Hornell, NY and enjoyed it very much. I am looking forward to live in a new environment, with a different culture and country and to improve my English. I also want to make new friends. But most of all, I am looking forward to getting to know you, my new host family, and to have lots of fun and joy with you.
