LETTER FROM Po Jui

Po Jui

To the dear Homestay family,

Hi! My name is Randy. I’m a seventeen-year-old sophomore in high school. I’m interested in becoming an exchange student to experience the American education system and improve my English communication skills with native speakers.

Let me introduce my family. There are four of us: my parents, my older sister, and me. We have a harmonious relationship, even though we occasionally argue. We always move past disagreements quickly, and by morning, everything is forgotten. Unlike many teenagers in Taiwan, I have a close bond with my parents. They are like my best friends; they offer constant support and encouragement whenever I face challenges. My dad works for an international company. He understands the importance of English, which is why he enrolled me in English cram schools during elementary school and encouraged me to pursue this exchange student opportunity. My mom is a homemaker who keeps our house clean and organized. I believe her efforts contribute significantly to our strong family dynamic. My relationship with my sister has evolved over time. We used to bicker over trivial things when we were younger, but now we support each other more. She excels academically, so I often ask her questions, and she is always happy to help. Currently, she’s attending college in Kaohsiuing and might pursue a career in pharmacy. Seeing the positive transformation she experienced after her exchange program further strengthens my desire to participate in a similar program.

Now, a little bit about myself. I live in New Taipei City, Taiwan. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, video games, listening to music, and simply chatting wtih my parents. My friends describe me as friendly, talkative, positive, and easygoing.

Living with your family would be a fantastic opportunity to improve my English and creat a wonderful cultural exchange experience for both of us. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. I eagerly await the chance to meet you soon.

Best Regards,

Randy
