LETTER FROM Sarah

Sarah

Dear Host Family,

My name is Sarah, and I am very excited about the opportunity to join your family and experience life in the United States. I would describe myself as a sociable, joyful, and curious person who loves discovering new things and meeting new people. I adapt easily to new environments and I am known to be creative, open-minded, and autonomous. I have a fun personality, enjoy making people laugh, and am considered reliable by those around me. That being said, I can be a little shy in class, I sometimes procrastinate, and I tend to be indecisive or hypersensitive at times—but I believe these traits are part of what makes me who I am.

Let me tell you a bit about my family. I live with my parents, who met 30 years ago and my older brother, who is 18. We are a close-knit family, and I cherish the time we spend together, whether it’s traveling, enjoying family activities, or gathering with my extended family, which includes many cousins, aunts, and uncles. We share a lot of laughter and create wonderful memories during these reunions. I also have a beloved cat named Grizou, who holds a special place in my heart. One of my favorite family traditions is our Sunday chicken-and-fries meal, and during vacations, we often spend time in the south of France where leave my extended family or occasionally visit another country.

I have a wide range of interests and hobbies. I love dancing and engaging in creative activities like arts and crafts. I also enjoy trying different cuisines—sushi, salads, Italian food, and desserts are my favorites. Traveling and exploring new cultures is something I am passionate about, and I also value spending quality time with friends and family. These moments bring me great joy and help me recharge.

The opportunity to live with an American family is a dream come true for me. I am eager to learn more about American culture, traditions, and daily life while improving my English to become fluent. This experience will allow me to meet new people, step out of my comfort zone, and embrace new perspectives. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of the “American dream,” and I believe this exchange will not only help me grow as a person but also create lifelong memories with your family.

Thank you for opening your home to me. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing this incredible journey together!
