Solveig, from Norway, has definitely become a part of the Shockley family

“She never really became homesick. It was almost like she had known us her whole life; she just fit right in! We are so happy that we chose her to come in to our home!”

Solveig made all A’s last 6 weeks and Solveig has joined the FFA and is gearing up for the county show. She will be showing her pig, Sophia Pigara, on the 26th of this month. Raising a pig has taught her about responsibility. Daily, Solveig awakes early to feed her pig before school. When she gets home from school she trains the pig to walk with her, and makes sure Sophia is fed before dinner time. She is very excited yet a little nervous about the show!

Aside from showing the pig, she loves having horses on our property! She is able to ride whenever she is able! Solveig has also joined the FFA’s horse judging team and they will begin competitions next month. She really has a passion for horses and we could not have chosen a better student to stay with us for the school year!
