Dear future host family
First, I would like to thank you for participating in the exchange program and considering me as your host child. I would be
pleased to meet you in person soon.

Now I would like to introduce myself, my name is Svea, and I am 15 years old and in the 10th grade in a German high school. I live together with my mother, my younger sister and our two guinea pigs, Nele and Romeo, in an apartment. Our dad lives not far from us and we see each other several times a week. With my family I really like to go on vacations together, for example to Spain, where i went diving.

In my free-time, I often go for walks outside and enjoy painting. I also enjoy reading books, meeting up with friends after school and baking with my sister. Once in a while, I also take care of the children of my neighbors or work as a volunteer at sports events. At home, I also take care of the laundry (washing, ironing, folding) and be responsible for the cooking as well sometimes.

I would love to do a year abroad because it is a unique opportunity to spend a year with you, a great host family and to live with you for a year to get to know American life. It would be great if we can do some activities together, for example watching a football game, which, I think is very exciting.
