| Dear future host family, First of all I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to stay in the United States and be part of your family for a whole year. I am incredibly grateful for that. I hope you are doing well, unfortunately we don’t know each other yet, so allow me to introduce myself and give you a little impression of me and my life. My name is Tim, I live in a City in the north of Germany. I live in a house with my parents and our dog but I don’t have any siblings. In my free time I love to spend time with my friends. We engage in a variety of activities, from casual gatherings at each other’s houses where we cook, talk, or play video games, to outings to the cinema or the biggest nearby city for shopping. Music is a passion of mine. I listen to many different genres and artists and frequently go to concerts with my friends. At school, my favorite subjects are sports and English. Both play significant roles in my life. I do many different sports and look forward to try new ones, as well in the United States, maybe in Highschool. I regularly hit the gym, go for a run or sometimes a swim. Also I used to play soccer in a club for more than 7 years and still like to play teamsports in general. English is my favorite language I really enjoy talking in it and I could probably improve my skills a lot in this exchange year. I have been to a few different country’s already and found many friends by speaking english with them. That’s the next big thing of my life, I love traveling and hope to see more of this world and meet new people in my life. I haven’t been to the United States or any other country in North America yet though. Not only do I want to improve my English, I’m also excited to understand American culture, the way things work here and the things taught in schools. I have always dreamed of experiencing an exchange year and been really fascinated by your country. I am excited to create new friendships, make some unforgettable memories with you and being embraced as a part of your family in the United States.
