| Dear Host Family, I don’t really know how to start this letter or what to say, but i’m going to be 100% my self. I’m Vanessa, I’m 16 and I live in the north of Italy. I live with my dad Ergys, my mom Silvana, my two little brothers and my grandparents from my dad side. My brothers are Devid, he is 12 and he plays football and Alan, he is 7 and is the little one in the house, he lights up my days, I love teaching him new things or drawing with him, I am very loving with children, they are so carefree and full of joy. We have 2 cats, they were street cats that we rescued, we really love animals. My brothers and I were born here in Italy but my grandparents and parents are Albanian, I am bilingual, I speak Italian and Albanian at home. We have restaurant. My parents, my grandparents and my uncle work there and during the summer I don’t waste time and I go to help my family. I like being in contact with people, I am very extroverted and sociable maybe just a little reserved at first but not even that much, I’m immediately the Vanessa I’ve always been. Every Sunday we all find ourselves eating together also because they work every day, only on Sundays we are all free and we like spending time together. Usually we also go out to the shops or in any case we try to spend the most of all the time together. During the week the only time we are all together is in the evening and we like to sit and talk about our days. I have a very beautiful and loving relationship with my parents and also with my brothers. I attend a linguistic high school. I study English, Spanish and German. I like to go to school and I like spending time there, obviously my friends make it much more beautiful, I have the biggest laughs there but I also like learning, I’m very curious , I love to know! My desire to study languages comes from my passion for travel! Travelling by car, by plane, by boat, it doesn’t matter. I did everything with my parents, they were the ones who passed me their love for travels and raised me to be very versatile so I could adapt very easily to new realities. I have been to USA many times, this summer we took a nice trip by car starting from New York arriving in Chicago, New Orleans, Miami and then New York again obviously I left out a few stops, I also visited many cities in Europe. I am very sociable and very cheerful. I try to always see the positive side in things, I’m very tidy and tidying up relaxes me. I am very responsible and determined, my determined nature sometimes leads me to be a little stubborn. I’m not afraid to say what I really think, I’m very transparent as a person, obviously with the respect for who is in front of me. I really love listening music, it gives me incredible emotions. I love 90s music, you know 50 Cent, I even went to the concert, 2pac or Snoop Dogg. I also listen to Drake, who is one of my favourite, but I listen to everything. I really love cooking, a passion always taken from my parents who have a restaurant, and let’s be honest, I do a great carbonara and a fantastic tiramisu. I love taking care of myself, not excessively, I’m not someone who wears a lot of makeup but I love skincare, haircare, etc. I would really spend hours taking care of myself, I like to appear ‘clean’ It makes me feel good with myself and I also love shopping, you know girl things! I think this experience will make me grow a lot, it will make me a different person, in a positive way, obviously! I hope to enjoy this experience to the fullest because it is once in a lifetime and I also hope that the people I meet will always be part of my life. I think this is all you have to know about me!
